Dear Reader,
You put the book down again to answer one more email.
You closed the sketchbook because there was laundry to fold. You skipped the walk because the errand felt more urgent. You did not play the piano, again, because there was something on the list that felt more important than a piano.
None of the things you chose over the thing you loved were wrong exactly. They were reasonable. They were responsible. They were what a grown person is supposed to prioritize.
But at the end of the day, you had done all of them, and the thing that would have made you feel alive was still sitting there untouched.
A Wealth Window Just Opened For You
Three hits on your energy signature this morning. That's rare.
When it happens, it signals money about to manifest. You're right on the edge of a financial shift.
The window closes at midnight tonight. No extensions.
This reading explains those recurring money thoughts and what's actually about to change.
You told yourself tomorrow. You have been telling yourself tomorrow for a very long time.
I did this with reading fiction for almost five years. I had a "read for pleasure" slot in my calendar that got moved every single day, without exception. I told myself I was too busy. I was not too busy. I was just treating the things that fed me as a reward I had to earn by finishing everything else first.
Here is the honest truth. The things you love are not less important than the things you should. They are the reason the shoulds are worth doing in the first place.
You have been organizing your life as though the loves are a bonus. Something extra. Something to fit in after the "real" work is done. But the real work never ends. There is always another email, another errand, another reasonable task standing between you and the piano.
That is not accidental. That is the shape of the trap. As long as your loves have to wait for your shoulds to be finished, they will wait forever.
The ego runs this because letting yourself do the thing you love before you have earned it feels dangerous. If you can play the piano before the inbox is empty, then the inbox loses some of its authority over you. You would have to admit that the shoulds are not actually more important than the loves. They are just louder.
The loves are quiet. They do not demand. They do not send follow-up emails. They wait patiently at the bottom of the list while everything with a deadline pushes past them, day after day.
Today, do the thing you love first. Before the tasks. Before the shoulds. Before the reasonable adult version of the day has begun.
Fifteen minutes is enough. Read the chapter. Play the song. Sketch the thing. Take the walk. Do the thing you have been telling yourself you would get to after.
Do it before, precisely because "after" has been a lie for a long time.
Notice how uncomfortable that feels. That discomfort is the whole point. It is the sound of a hierarchy you have been living inside starting to loosen.
This is your magnetic mindset: you stop treating what you love as a reward you have to earn. You start letting it be part of how you live, and a person whose aliveness is not conditional on finishing their inbox stops experiencing their own life as a task to get through.
Something to take with you today: "What I love is not what I do at the end. It is what I do because it is who I am."
The shoulds will never be done. That is the reason to do what you love first.
"You do not have to be good. You do not have to walk on your knees for a hundred miles through the desert repenting."
Something to ask yourself today:
What do you love that has been quietly waiting at the bottom of the list — and what would it feel like to do it today, before anything else?
Mindfully Yours,
Magnetic Mindset
